Webinar - Condition Assessment of Sewer Force Mains
Sewer pipeline corrosion and failures are a fact of life for utilities. The use of CCTV has helped utilities get them under control on gravity mains however now Pure Technologies can help do the same for pressurized wastewater pipelines such as force mains and inverted siphons.
Force mains and inverted siphons have unique warning signs of impending failure. Wastewater escaping from these pressurized pipelines not only indicates the loss of structural integrity, but can also wash out bedding causing sinkholes to form and pipes to buckle. Pockets of gas trapped in the lines can allow H2S to build up and eat away at the pipe wall, risking future loss of pipeline integrity.
Pure currently offers the following services for sewer force mains and large diameter gravity main inspection:

Sahara® - Tethered Leak Detection for Complex Networks Sahara consists of a tether-controlled sensor that passes along an in-service pipeline, detecting leaks and pockets of trapped gas in large diameter mains. |
Leak and gas pocket detection for In-service wastewater pipelines | All | 4"+ (>100mm) |

Visual and sounding inspections are used to quickly identify PCCP pipes in the state of incipient failure. These inspections also provide a detailed as-built laying schedule, carefully documenting the condition of joints and other pipeline defects. |
Depressurized and partially dewatered wastewater pipelines | PCCP (AWWA C301) |
36"+ (>900mm) |
