About Openaka

Openaka, Inc. is a nationally recognized consulting engineering firm specializing in assessing, repairing, and managing pipelines, with a major focus on Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipes (PCCP).

The consultancy was founded in 1979 by Robert Price, an engineer who understood the value of condition assessments of PCCP mains.  Mr. Price’s strict adherence to providing thorough condition assessments and excellent engineering recommendations led to Openaka’s high reputation - which has continued since Pure Technologies acquired the company in 2005.

PCCP mains, which are usually large in diameter, are critical to the transmission demands of operating agencies.  Their unexpected failure often has significant environmental, financial and operational consequences. Openaka helps owners minimize the risk of interruptions by implementing proactive condition assessment and asset management programs of PCCP mains.
